Slaves has just released their new album To Better Days: a killer album with a bunch of awesome sounds!
You can listen it to the whole album here, with the music videos here:
The very first single Heavier, released over a year ago in July 2019, gave us a great preview of the band’s new sound with the new vocalist Matt McAndrew.
Then Prayers was the second single unveiled in November 2019, and what a slap... The electronic instrumental base, the musical base, the clear voice of the singer alone on the end of the bridge, nothing is to be thrown in this song. It climbed straight into our favorites on the album (and it’s one of the band's favorites too).
Bury a Lie was then released in January, along with the announcement of the new album (yes!), followed by Talk to a Friend in March.
Wasting My Youth, Like I Do and Eye Opener, all more melodic than the previous singles, were then released every month to keep us waiting until today, and came to confirm the quality of the upcoming album.
7 out of 13 tracks had already been released, and today we are discovering 6 new songs.

To Better Days is actually a general intro, with music parts from many songs (lyrics from Wasting My Youth, lyrics and rhythm from Prayers, among others…).
Just like Prayers, Eye Opener, Bury a Lie and Wasting My Youth, the new songs Witch Hunt, Cursed and Secrets tell us about a couple in the middle of a crisis with different words and an ever-present feeling of betrayal.
On the contrary, they offer us an extremely successful romantic and melodic ballad, Footprints, only acoustic with the singer's calm and clear voice.
The album seems to be divided into two parts: the first 7 songs are more punchy, while the last 6 are slightly softer, with for example Clean Again as a calm and short interlude.
In short, the lyrics are still punchy, the controlled voice adds depth to all the lyrics, and the musical rhythms are as effective as ever!
This album is EXTREMELY successful, and Slaves is definitely a band to follow very, very closely...
