Slaves' new single, as powerful instrumentally as it is vocally, has finally been released.

After Prayers and Bury a Lie, this song is a real slap in the face.

Well known to Slaves, the electronic background is laid from the very beginning, providing a very airy base for the song. The power and efficiency of the sound are immediately felt as soon as the instruments arrive. This idea is confirmed as soon as the new singer, Matt McAndrew (also revealed by The Voice USA a few years ago), puts down his clear and controlled voice.

The lyrics are incisive and very well chosen to talk about difficult topics like depression and loneliness.

The music video, directed by Aaron Berkshire (also working with Black Veil Brides this year), captures all the emotions of the song. We find this aerial sensation given by the instrumental base thanks to the visually magnificent drone shots: an expanse of lakes and mountains, with the singer alone walking on the water. The loneliness is felt throughout the clip, as well as the pain on the phone when he talks to his interlocutor (a friend or himself?).

The chorus is particularly successful: despite a lyric repetition, the rhythm works, the singer's powerful and rugged voice sway all the emotions, and they won, the chorus stays in the head.

In short, as soon as the single is finished, we simply want to listen to it again. And wait for the next one.
